Multiple Sites Edition

VitaSite™ is available in two editions: VitaSite™ Single Site and VitaSite™ Multiple Sites. Both editions include all the various tools described on this site. The Multiple Sites edition includes additional tools that allow you to manage a multi-site network.

Each site in a multiple site installation includes the full VitaSite™ Single Site toolset. Therefore each site controls its own content, users, administrators, discussion forums, etc. However, each site can also choose to share select content with the network. Network content can be used on any site within the network.

Examples of how the multiple site tools have been used include:

Parent Company with Various Brands

VF Workwear is the parent company of several garment brands, including Red Kap, Bulwark, Horace Small and others. VF is using VitaSite™ Multiple Sites edition to run separate sites for each of these brands. The admin tools allow VF to manage the content for each site from a common interface, and to share content easily among the various sites.

Sports Content Network

Rivals.com is the largest subscription-based sports site on the Internet. Rivals uses a custom multiple sites version of our tools to run a network of hundreds of team-focused sites. If someone is a big Alabama fan, they can go to BamaOnline.com (or alabama.rivals.com) and get specfic info on their team. The publisher of BamaOnline is able to pull content from other sites in the network. This allows him or her to show specific articles from the Auburn site (or any other college site in the network) that his/her subscribers might find interesting.

University Web Site

Lipscomb University uses a multi-site version of our tools for its various websites. Previously, many Lipscomb departments were hosting their own websites using various platforms. There was not a consistent navigational structure, or common look/feel between the various sites.

Now, each Lipscomb department uses our tools to manage its site. The top level administrators are able to keep a consistent look/feel among the sites, and maintain a site-wide navigational structure that makes sense to their visitors. The various departments are able to control their own content, without having to funnel changes through technical staff.
